Law enforcement recruiting has certainly changed ion recent years and along with those changes comes technological advances.
Early on, SAFEGUARD Recruiting discovered that many of their clients were tracking candidates and applicants using spreadsheets and even a white board and when the recruiting campaigns of those clients rose significantly, there was a lot of frustration with the organization and communication to those clients.
Applicant Tracking Software (ATS)
While Customer Relations Software (CRM) has been in the business world for years, SAFEGUARD’s Chief Technology Officer, Jake Peterson, says that they wanted to offer their clients much more.
Peterson said that some of their clients had previously been given an existing third party software with limits on what they could do without attaching that software to other pieces of software. Essentially, they were sold a piece of software designed for business marketing and not specifically tracking police candidates and not only did that bring them unnecessary costs but issues with efficiency and effectiveness.
Peterson set out with his team to develop a customized Applicant Tracking System designed for law enforcement and by law enforcement and the results have been dramatic for their clients.
From unlimited and bulk messaging that includes text to the classification of clients and a platform that not only brings clients in from interest but can keep them there through the application and beyond.
The feedback has been a resounding success and many clients that were using another system prior to working with SAFEGUARD have gone all in with SAFEGUARD’s Applicant Tracking System.
Peterson continues to follow the path he set out on with the ATS as modules are continually added.
The latest innovation is an Agency Referral Program that is embedded in the software that enables an agency to track which employee referred the candidate or applicant.
